The night kicks off at 7PM with a special Intro to Improv Showcase, where our newest performers take the stage and show off their freshly minted comedy skills. Then at 8PM, the March Mashup begins…
With sideline commentators, this bracket-style improv showdown is full-blown March insanity. Who will rise to the top? Who will get taken out by a totally unfair twist? And who will take home the saddest, most underwhelming trophy we could find?
Only one way to find out. March 14 at the District Cabaret Stage. Be there.
Behind the Couch: Improv Classes
Intro to Improv
Tuesdays 6:30pm-9pm, Apr 22 through May 27
Cost: $200
Get a 6 week introduction to the joys of improv with our Intro to Improv class. You’ll learn how to create top notch scenes with characters, relationships, environments and more! No improv experience required!
Intermediate Improv 2
Wednesdays 6:30pm-9pm, Apr 16 through May 21
Cost: $200
Expand your improv skills even further with our Intermediate 2 class. You’ll learn how to be a trustworthy host that both audiences and players adore! You’ll dabble in musical improv and focus on the skills to be the best scene partner you can be. This class is best suited for folks who have taken a previous improv class, or who perform regularly. Instructor to be announced soon!
The course will end with a public showcase for your family, friends, and frenemies. Class size is limited, so sign up now!
Indy Arts Council 2024 Grant Recipient
Defiance Comedy is excited to announce that we have been awarded a grant through the City of Indianapolis Annual Grants Program from the Indy Arts Council supported by the Indianapolis City-Councillors. This grant will help us to advance our mission to make kickass shows with kickass talent, for kickass audiences! We love Indianapolis, and are so thankful to work in a city that supports artists with programs like this.
